There are numerous articles talking about how to create SMART goals. But these articles forget the most important part of the goals achievement. So, what seems to be the problem hindering goals achievement?

Notably, the answer lies in what support system and environment you have to stay focused. Your support system plus the environment determine your goals’ success. To start winning with your life goals, create a support system and a destruction-free environment.

Create a Quiet Environment for Your Life Goals

What kind of goal are you working on? Unless you are working on this goal with other people, I’d suggest you find an environment free of distractions. Ordinarily, you might need a quiet place or simply getting rid of some noise.

You may try to avoid things such as cellphone, social media, watching TV etc. To put it another way, any destruction that may negatively impact your goals must go. By all means, do your research and find out what eats your time and get rid of it.

Schedule Time to Work On Your Life Goals

A common mistake people make when dealing with their goals is not scheduling a time to work on them. So what does scheduling the time have to do with life goals? It has a significant effect on your goals.

If you don’t schedule a time to work on your goals, you are most likely not going to accomplish them. You may block some time during the day to work on your goal. You don’t need too much time neither; a half an hour a day might just be fine.

Work on One Task at a Time

In general, it is so important to break your goal into smaller tasks. Why is it so important? Smaller tasks are easy to accomplish; they don’t consume too much of your time.

Once you’ve divided your goal into smaller tasks, work on one task at a time. Don’t try to multi-task or else you lose quality. Also, you might take too much than what you can handle and lose the momentum.

Track Your Goal’s Progress

Why should one track a goal’s progress? By tracking your progress you gain traction. How can I track the progress?

Indeed, there are numerous ways of tracking a goal’s progress. You can use an application of your liking or a whiteboard. In other words,  you can use whatever tool is available to you.

Celebrate Your Wins Whenever You Close a Task

Once you complete a task, take some time to slow down and celebrate. Why should I celebrate if the entire goal is not completely? It boosts your moral to keep on moving forward.

So how do I celebrate? There is not one answer that fits all. You may use whatever is appealing to you to celebrate the tasks you’ve completed.

Move on to The Next Task

Sometimes people spend more time celebrating their small wins. Don’t celebrate too much and become a victim. You might lose sight of your goal and stop working on it.

Celebrate but be certain to move on to the next task. Based on your priorities, continue to work on your tasks. It will keep you moving on with the rest of the goal.
