Life is Unpredictable, Work on Your Goals

Waiting Will Only Drag the Process of Achieving Your Life Goals

Life is unpredictable! Knowing this, why don’t you spend it working on your life goals? Sometimes, we plan and plan but lack the willpower to act on those plans.

At this instant, I am writing this article as I am sitting at Chicago O’Hare airport waiting for my connecting flight, which has been delayed for 4 hours. Was it my plan to remain at the airport for 4 hours? Probably not; it wasn’t in my thought that this would happen.

Even though, I had planned for this trip weeks ago and had booked the early flight to make it to my destination early; things didn’t go that way. I even had prepared for afternoon meetings. Now, I am sitting here waiting for 4 hours while others are waiting for me in the meeting room.

Life Lesson

So, what can we learn from life? It is unpredictable! You may have the best plan ever, but things out of your control might ruin your project. In my case, some heavy rains and thunderstorms grounded most of the flights from Chicago O’Hare airport.

Therefore, I decided to write this article instead of doing nothing at the airport. Ultimately, your life plans are not going to go as smooth as you’d imagined. No matter what happens keep on moving forward; don’t stop because of one obstacle.

Does the Right Time Exist?

Expressly, some people say they are waiting for the right time to start working on their goals. Let me break the bad news to you; there is nothing called the right time. In my experience, I believe that the right time is now. Ernestine Ulmer once said, “Life is uncertain. Eat dessert first.”

Some years ago, on a Friday afternoon, at around 3 pm, I was discussing our Monday soccer game plan with a co-worker and a teammate. Surprisingly, at about 7 pm that same day, I received an email stating that he was involved in a tragic car accident. Life is too short, spend it on what matters the most.

Just imagine what plans this individual had for his life. We are living in a borrowed time, take care of what matters to you and your loved ones. Don’t set off what you can do today for tomorrow.

Take Action Now

Surely, setting goals is excellent, but being focused to achieve them is hard; it needs determination and discipline. Learn the habits that will support you to take care of your goals once you have planned them. Don’t wait a bit; waiting will only drag the process of achieving them.

Make it a daily habit of working on your goals one task at a time. You eat an elephant by taking a small bite until you eat it all. The same goes for your life goals, finish one small task once a day until you get all of them completed.

Question: What is holding you back from achieving your life goals?
